Kids at church

We make it easy for you to worship with your children - or without!

A professional caregiver and an adult assistant are available on Sunday mornings from 9:15 am - 12:15 pm for “littles.” Their playarea is at the back, separated from the sanctuary by wall-to-wall windows, so you can check on them anytime. Or feel free to join them in the playarea, if that makes you more comfortable; you’ll be able to see and hear the worship service. Or bring them into the service with you. Whatever works best for you and your child.

Older children (K-5) begin in the sanctuary and then transition to a classroom for about 30 minutes. Two adult teachers will share a brief lesson and a craft or two. The best of both worlds - your child gets to experience music, joy, and some prayer in the sanctuary. You get to hear the second half of the service uninterrupted. Again, we welcome your children for the entirety of worship if that is your family’s preference.

At Vermont Hills, we follow the United Methodist Safe Sanctuaries policy:

  • All adults have had background checks

  • There are always two unrelated adults with the children

Please don’t hesitate to ask questions or view the children’s areas at any time.
