4 We have a new Interactive Calendar on the website! You can get there by going to or by clicking on ‘events’ on the menu at the top of the homepage.
Each event has a time and place listed – if you hold your cursor over the event, those details will pop up, or just click on the event.
Let us know what you think!
5 Talk and Thought will meet on Tuesday, October 17th at 1pm in the Fireside Room. We are currently reading Astoria by Peter Stark. As is our tradition, it will be read and discussed in the group. For more information, contact Linda Miller at or 503-699-8628.
6 Adult Sunday School – Come join us at 9am in the Fireside Room. Here are some of the upcoming topics:
Oct 22 – F is for Fideism (What if you can’t understand until you believe?)
Oct 29 – G is for Genre (What style is the Bible written in?)
Nov 5 – H is for Hermeneutics (What if interpretation is everything?)
Nov 12 – I is for Inerrant (What if the Bible has errors but is still true?)
For more information on the class, be sure to check our website . We hope you will come and be a part of the discussion. Email Pastor Bo with any questions at: .
7 Progressive Bible Study – Every Wednesday at 7pm in the Fireside Room we will be offering a Bible study, with a twist. Our hope is for a different way of reading the Bible that accounts for genre and takes seriously both the historic understanding of the text as well as its contemporary implications. We hope that you will come to this exercise with an open mind, a sincere heart, and a commitment to read the text through a 21st century lens. It might look very different than it did before.

Thank you to all those who have volunteered for this Sunday’s worship service:
Ushers: Ramona Alsman, Dori Killion, Pat Krawford
Liturgist: Mike Fryer
Coffee: Jenna Schofer
