Memorial Service  Clark K. Henry, a former member of VHUMC, passed in April.  His memorial service is this Saturday, September 7, at 1:00 pm at Old Town Church, 2224 15th Ave, Forest Grove.

School Supplies  This is the last Sunday to help the Hayhurst Elementary students by providing school supplies.  Find the list of requested items in the lobby or here.  The Children’s Task Force thanks you for your generosity!

BrainStorming with Bo  We begin “God is Not One,” a look at the major religions of the world and how we all connect, this Sunday.  Join us in the Fireside Room at the new time, 9:30 am.

All Church Work Party  Join us this Saturday, September 7 at 10:00 am.  Your elbow grease is necessary to maintain our beautiful campus.

Another Look at Jesus  We begin a series on the book of Luke during worship this Sunday.  You may be familiar with all of the stories, but have you approached them as an adult in the 21st century?  It will be enlightening.  Join us at 10:30 am.

Second Sunday Spiritual Practices  Try “Finding Yourself in the Story” through an ancient method called Lectio Divina.  This Sunday at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary.

Swifts at Chapman  Seeing these birds is a glorious sight.  Join Elizabeth Brown on Saturday, September 14, at 7:00 pm at Chapman Elementary, 1445 NW 26th Ave.

Membership Class  If you would like to learn more about membership in Vermont Hills, please attend on Sunday, September 15, after coffee time.  Pastor Bo will lead the session which will last about 90 minutes.

September 29 All are invited to a Town Hall Meeting in the sanctuary and to rehearse a special song for World Communion Sunday the following week.  Stay for a short time after worship and lend your heart and voice to this event.

Capital Improvement Campaign  We’re close to raising the $6000 needed for a new heat pump for the Fireside Room.  Donate online or mark your check for CIC.  Let’s get this done!

Talk N Thought  The “dynamite” ladies of TnT just began their latest book, “The Road to Little Dribbling” by Bill Bryson.  It’s a humorous travel book and a sequel to his bestseller, “Notes From a Small Island.”  Join them on Tuesdays at 1:00 pm in the Fireside Room.  There’s always great conversation, snacks, and reading/discussing insightful books.

Bethlehem House of Bread  We are collecting your gently used clothing and household linens. Put your items in the “treasure box” by the church office door.  Thank you!
