Message from Bo
Happy September everyone!  What a wild and weird time for all of us as kids return to school and churches (like ours) plan to move from outdoor worship gatherings to indoor worship.
We are also dreaming of children’s ministry options and launching a middle-school group later this fall.
I thought it would be good for you to see the kind of updates that we receive from our conference and denomination. They are doing a great job at providing resources for us and helping us to make difficult decisions. Check out their email and let us know your thoughts or concerns.
We love you and are trying to do the best for everybody under our care. Thank you for the grace and for the patience as we all try to navigate this challenging season together.

Retirement Gift
Our music director, Joy Wegner, is retiring after 21 years at VHUMC!  If you’d like to contribute to a monetary gift for Joy, please mark your check or online donation for her.  We will be having a celebration of her ministry on Sep 19 during and following worship at 10:30 am.

All Church Work Party
Our last chance to spruce up the interior before we resume worship in the sanctuary.  Join us at 9:00 am on Saturday, Sep 11, prepared to work!

Sensational September!
We have lots planned for this month.  As with all plans right now, circumstances could change.  But for now, here’s the line-up.  Please note that masks will be required at all times indoors, and that both BrainStorming with Bo and worship services will be available on Zoom.

  • 10:30 am Worship in the sanctuary

Sep 19:

We will begin a new series, “unApologetic”, based on the 2020 Social Principles during the worship hour.  BrainStorming with Bo will begin a conversation about Quaker spirituality and how it informs us as mainline Protestants.   It will be sensational!

ImBible Study
Our award-winning bible study will kick off on Wednesday, Sep 15, at a new time – 6:30 pm.  We will meet weekly in person and on Zoom, whichever one works for you!  Our topic this fall is women in the bible.  Sure to be thought-provoking.
