Worship Time continues at 10:00 am through the end of August

Happy Independence Day!

Congrats!  To grandparents, Joy and Scott Wegner, on the birth of Garison Kyle Moran.  Mom and baby are doing well.

Potluck  Join us in Fellowship Hall after the service this Sunday as we celebrate Elizabeth Brown (aka Boofy.)  Bring a dish to share.

Better and better  Our new kids room continues to improve, thanks to donations from Grayce Kelly, Barbara Wagner, and John Espy.  More toys, more comfort, and more enjoyment.  Thank you!

Movie in the Park We will be co-hosting a family-friendly movie in Pendleton Park on Saturday, July 13.  Music and fun begins at 6:30 pm, followed by the movie at dusk.  We will have a table with church information and fun.  We hope that all will attend to meet our neighbors.

Pub Chat  Our next pub chat is Tuesday, July 16, at 6:00 pm.  If you’ve been wanting to give it a try, now is a good time since several “regulars” are traveling and the group is a bit smaller.  We gather at The Lodge at Cascade Brewing, 7424 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy.

Emergency Preparedness Event  There are still openings available at this auction event presented by Donna Ward.  Tuesday, July 23, 7:00 pm in Fellowship Hall.  Only $20 per person to gain some peace of mind.

Book Group Join us Wednesdays at 7:00 pm in the Fireside Room in reading and discussing the book, “Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community” by Robert Putnam.

Fred Meyer Community Rewards  Link your FM Rewards card with Vermont Hills United Methodist Church (code SY323) and the church will receive a percentage of all your purchases.

Donation Box  Last chance to donate to SMYRC, a group which supports queer and trans homeless youths.  Please bring new toiletries and cosmetics (all skin colors), and gently used shoes (large sizes, any gender), wigs, and fashion accessories.

Sunnyside Needs  Items that are always needed for their homeless ministry: new socks and underwear, laundry detergent, gently used jeans and towels. Put your items in the “treasure box” by the church office door.  And a big Thank You to the angel who delivered everything recently!

Giving by Text  Text a dollar amount to 503.966.5879.  This is through the same company that handles our online giving, so it’s safe and secure.

Talk N Thought  The “dynamite” ladies of TnT are reading “Educated: A Memoir” by Tara Westover.  Join them every Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Fireside Room and share in great conversation, snacks, and reading/discussing insightful books.

Prayer Chain  Email your prayer requests to If you do not have access to email, you may call Linda Miller at 503.929.6696. The ‘Prayers of the People’ is crafted weekly from this information; please indicate if your prayer is private.
