(Rain, heat domes, or wildfire smoke will move us into Fellowship with masks)

Safe Sanctuary Training
One of the requirements of our Safe Sanctuary policy is that we provide an annual educational opportunity on abuse prevention.  Fortunately, the Conference has us covered!  They are offering a free online class this Sunday from 1:30 – 4:00 pm.  Register here.  This class is for everyone, not just childcare workers.

Pub Chat Returns!
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, Aug 3, at 6:00 pm.  We’ll gather at The Lodge at Cascade Brewing to eat, drink, and discuss this CNN opinion piece:  Please read and come prepared with your thoughts!

Kitchen Help Needed
Due to an injury to their chef, Alton L. Collins Retreat Center is looking for volunteers (or paid staff, if you or someone you know is looking for work) for the following dates:

  • Starting the afternoon of Sunday, July 18 through lunch on Thursday, July 22
  • Starting the afternoon of Friday, July 30 through lunch on Sunday, August 8
  • Starting the afternoon of Tuesday, August 10 through lunch on August 15

For many of these dates, lodging in addition to meals can be provided. Volunteers with a wide range of skills and energy levels are needed. The primary requirement is that you must be willing to be kind and offer Christian love to the guests. Everything else that you need to know, they can teach you.  Contact Dan Benson at 541-777-7398 or at

VHUMC Gardens
Interested in being a charter member of our new gardening group?  The Karman family has donated all the supplies to get us started on two vegetable plots.  The harvest will be donated to Neighborhood House as part of their Scattered Gardens program.  If you would like to help water, weed, and nurture our new plants, please contact Nathan at

Ministry Fair
August 29 is a Fifth Sunday!  We thought it would be fun to have a ministry fair.  It’s an opportunity for any church group, such as Habitat for Humanity, Trustees, Talk N Thought, to publicize who they are and what they do.  Even more importantly, it’s an opportunity for those who are looking for small group connection to see what’s available.  If your group would like space at a table, please email the church office.
