Fireside Friends
Elizabeth B has our next quilting project in the queue!  Join us on Monday, July 18, at 5:30 pm in the studio downstairs.  Bring your sewing machine if desired.

Worship Continues at 10:00 am
Worship will start at 10:00 am through Sep 4. Pastor Bo continues his summer sermon series, “Should Christians be Good Citizens?”   Missed a Sunday?  You can catch up on YouTube or our website.

Breezeway Book Club
Our next meeting on the breezeway is July 20 from 6:30 – 7:15 pm, or you can join us on Zoom, meeting ID 409 087 237.  We will be discussing chapter 5 of “The Misunderstood Jew” by Amy-Jill Levine.  Bring your beverage of choice for afterwards.

Painting
To save more than $20K, we are going to prep and paint the south sides of the buildings ourselves this summer.  Please help if you can.  Any day, any time can be arranged with Bo.

OI-RUM Picnic
You are invited!  The Oregon-Idaho Reconciling United Methodists are having a potluck picnic on Saturday, July 23, beginning at 11:30 am.  It will be on the lawn of Morningside UMC, 3674 Twelfth Street SE, Salem.  Get all the details on this flyer.

Neighborhood Night Out
Hayhurst neighborhood is having their Neighborhood Night Out on Friday, August 12, in Pendleton Park.  The activities include games (some hosted by VHUMC!), food carts, and live music by Iron Prophecy.  5:30 – 8:30 pm.  We are providing off-street parking for those attending.  Contact Bryan C for more info and/or to volunteer to help.

Donation Pick Up Volunteers Needed

Neighborhood House is seeking volunteers to pick up food at grocery stores/markets in your own vehicle and take to the food pantry

  • Available Shifts:
  • Sundays 1-3pm: Hillsdale Farmer’s Market (every other week)
  • Monday OR Fridays at 9am: QFC (6411 SE Milwaukie Ave)
  • Tuesday at 10am: Whole Foods (7380 SW Bridgeport Rd)
  • Friday at 10am: Trader Joe’s (7215 SW Garden Home Rd)
