Outdoor Games Night  Join Elizabeth Brown in her last official event as Youth Director.  From 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Sunday, June 30, here at the church.  Play the big games in the great outdoors!

New Kids Room  This past Sunday was our first week using our new kids room and it was a hit! The kids room is right next to the sanctuary in the main building (enter through the first door on the left in the sanctuary.) Kids stay close while parents get to participate in the worship gathering. We also have a kids area in the sanctuary with a comfy couch for families. We are so excited about the new kids room and what it means for our growing families.  Bring your kids and try it out!

“Retirement” Party  On July 7 we will celebrate Elizabeth “Boofy” Brown and her 12 years of ministry here at VHUMC.  We will have a traditional potluck after the worship service. Please plan to stay and wish her the best!  (Don’t forget to send your photos of Boofy and her events to the church office for a slideshow!)

Movie in the Park We will be co-hosting a family-friendly movie in Pendleton Park on Saturday, July 13.  Music and fun begins at 6:30 pm, followed by the movie at dusk.  You may bring a picnic or purchase dinner from a food cart, if desired.  We will have a table with church information and fun.  We hope that all will attend to meet our neighbors.

Book Group  We just began reading and discussing the book, “Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community” by Robert Putnam.  Join us Wednesdays at 7:00 pm in the Fireside Room.

Flat Screen Needed  Our new kids room could use a flat screen TV or monitor so that they can see, as well as hear, our worship service.  If you have one available, please contact the church office.
