Communion Flowers  Sign up at the Welcome table this Sunday, or contact the church office, if you’d be willing to bring a flower arrangement on the first Sunday of any remaining month in 2019.

Office Closed  The church office will be closed May 22 and 23 while Virginia and Bryan are in Texas playing board games and loving on their daughter.

Scrip Sunday  Our current service provider is closing!  We have only this Sunday and June 9 to purchase their remaining stock.  See the newest order form; the vendors with an asterisk are running low. Stock up now!

Second Sunday Spiritual Practice  This Sunday we’ll be looking at how prayer is affected by our body postures.  6:00 pm in the sanctuary. (Postponed due to Mother’s Day)

Pub Chat  On Tuesday, May 21, we’ll be discussing the missing political center.  Prepare by reading this article.  We meet at 6:00 pm at the Lodge at Cascade Brewing, 7424 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy.

Senior Sunday  We will celebrate Lizzie R’s high school graduation on Sunday, June 2, with a potluck and more.  Plan to bring a dessert (last name beginning with A – L) or side (M – Z) to share; meat will be provided.

Summer Worship Hour  We will begin worship at 10:00 am during the summer (June, July, and August) in an effort to beat the heat.

Declutter and recycle from your closet, select and take home free items from racks of “new to you” clothing and accessories, sample teatime treats, and enjoy a lively afternoon with VHUMC friends at Melanie’s “Clean Out Your Closet” party – a clothing/accessories swap/exchange at Melanie’s home. Movie in the Park  Hayhurst Neighborhood Association will host a Free Movie in the Park event on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Pendleton Park.  Entertainment will begin at 6:30 pm with a performance by the Hula Halau ‘Ohana Holo’oko’a Band, a Hawaiian music group.  Hotel Transylvania 3, a family-friendly animated film, will begin at dusk. This free event is open to all and everyone is invited to attend. Sunnyside Needs  If you have extra, gently used jeans or towels, Sunnyside Community House could use them for their homeless ministry.  Laundry detergent is also requested.  Put your items in the “treasure box” by the church office door.  Thank you!

ImBible Study  Our feisty, fantastic bible study group is reading the book of James.  Join us on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm in the Fireside Room, with an optional second act at the pub afterwards. And coming in June – we will be reading and discussing the book, “Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community” by Robert Putnam.

Talk N Thought  The “dynamite” ladies of TnT are reading “Educated: A Memoir” by Tara Westover.  Join them every Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Fireside Room and share in great conversation, snacks, and reading/discussing insightful books.
