Sunday, April 24  Volunteer Appreciation Day
We couldn’t have made it through the last two years without YOU!  The staff will serve lunch to everyone after the service this Sunday.  All are invited!  Please come – let us show our appreciation for everyone at VHUMC.

Twelve Tiny Prayers
During the month of May, Pastor Bo has prepared three “stations” for you to visit on Sunday mornings between 9:30 and 10:30 am.  At each station – in the chapel, at the picnic tables, and in the courtyard garden – there will be several short prayers from our recent book study, “Naked Spirituality.”  Look for the yellow prayer prompt cards at your choice of station.  The cards will change each week; visit one or all of the stations during May.

Breezeway Book Club
Join us from May-July as we read ‘The Misunderstood Jew’ by Amy-Jill Levine.  This fascinating book will give us plenty to talk about every 14 days as we learn about the Jewish roots of Christianity. We will meet on the breezeway from 6:30-7:15 pm on Wednesdays to talk about the book and then enjoy our favorite (BYO-) beverage.  Find the complete schedule at https://vermonthillsumc.org/summer-reading-group-the-misunderstood-jew/

Auction 2022:  Dream Big!
Saturday, June 11, 4:30 – 7:30 pm
How you can help make this a fundraising success:
Bring in donations!  Either your own or from a favorite business.  Ideas: Host an event, provide a service (e.g. car detailing, transferring VHS/DVD to digital, yardwork), create a handcrafted item or homemade food item. Here’s a letter you can use for donations: donation request. Even small donations are appreciated for creating themed baskets.

Portland Pride
We will have a booth at the Portland Pride Waterfront Festival on June 18 and 19!  Anyone who is interested in helping man the booth, please sign up here, or contact  the church office.  We plan to tie-dye matching tees for the event so sign up early!

Greeters Needed
Looking for friendly folks to greet visitors and members on Sunday mornings.  Ever felt a little uneasy entering a new place?  Be the person who makes newcomers feel welcome.  You don’t have to have all the answers; a smile will be enough (and we’ll assist you with the rest.)  Contact the church office to help.

SW Hope Totals
Thank you for your participation in the SW Hope Food and Cash Drive for Neighborhood House.  Four members of our walking club, the VHUMC Ramblers, were in the 5K walk/run.  VHUMC donated food and $2030 towards the grand total of over $50,000 for SW Hope.  That equals 200,000 pounds of food for our food-insecure neighbors!
