Celebration of Life
There will be a service of remembrance for Roger Turk this Saturday, Dec 11, at 1:00 pm.  The service will also be in our usual Zoom room if you prefer to attend that way.  We expect a large gathering.  The Zoom meeting ID is 409 087 237.  If you attend in person, Bo could use some help re-setting the chairs in the sanctuary afterwards.  The service will be recorded; please email the church office for the link.
Mary sent us this Kiwanis speech that Roger wrote on “The Good Samaritan,” one of his favorite Bible passages: The Good Samaritan

We’re planning a Christmas singalong in Pendleton Park on Sat, Dec 18, at 3:30 pm.  All are invited to join in the celebration!  We may decide to ‘take it on the road’ and carol through the neighborhood, so wear your comfy shoes and (waterproof?) layers!

Social Principles Continue
This Sunday, Bo will be preaching on Race and Religion from the United Methodist’s Book of Social Principles.  Read more on the topic at

Second Sunday Spiritual Practice
John E will be leading a meditation at 6:00 pm this Sunday.  You can check it out in the second week of our Advent devotional

Christmas Gifts
This Sunday is the last day to bring gift cards (any amount) for Hayhurst Elementary student families in need.  Cards that be used for both groceries and gifts, such as Fred Meyer or Target, are preferred.  Thanks!

Ministry Opportunity
Looking for someone who attends worship on Zoom, who can press the ‘share’ button and show a pdf file on their computer.  Virginia will send you the file.  All you have to do is pay attention (which you already do!)  This frees Bo up to concentrate on worship.  Please email if you are interested

Quilts on Display
Edna B’s handmade quilts will be on display in the chapel (to the right of the main entrance) for a limited time, beginning Sun, Dec 19.  Come a little early to worship to get a chance to enjoy their beauty.  Then, join Edna and others at Fireside Friends, our new quilting group on Mon, Dec 20, at 5:00 pm (or any 1st or 3rd Mon).

Upcoming Events
Dec 15, 22: Online Advent Meditation at 12:30 pm (Advent Devotional booklet)

Naked in the New Year

We are putting together a 7-day rotation of people who will share their thoughts and insights. If you want to be a part of it, just let us know and we will set you up with the schedule.
