Thank You for Your Christmas Spirit  VHUMC is blessed to have so many people who make this season so special:  carolers; Advent candlelighters; those who decorated the sanctuary and the tree; the choir; Alternative Christmas organizers and donors; all those who attended the Sanders’ Open House; delivery folk for Bethlehem House of Bread; all involved with making the holidays happier for Hayhurst families; and the staff.  Merry Christmas!

Fifth Sunday Game Night  Join us on Sunday, Dec 29, at 4:00 pm in the Fireside & Big Rooms for card and board games, ping pong and pool.  Bringing friends and snacks are encouraged!

All Church Work Party  Make it a New Year’s resolution to attend!  Saturday, Jan 4, 10:00 – noon.  No experience needed; all are welcome.

Help Needed  Participate more fully one Sunday a month by ushering, reading, or running the slide show.  It’s easier than you think!  Contact the church office for more details.

Backup Requested  We need backup persons to pick up leftovers 1-2 times/week at Starbucks on Scholls Ferry (just off Hwy 217) or two KFC locations in Beaverton, and then deliver the food to Neighborhood House.  Contact the church office if you can help.

Bethlehem House of Bread  Their mission is to provide not only food but also clothing and household essentials, such as baby formula, diapers, and personal hygiene products, for those going through challenging times.  Please donate as you are able to the “treasure box” by the church office.  Thank you!

Talk N Thought  Talk N Thought will not meet on December 24 and 31; gatherings will resume on January 7 with a potluck. They are currently reading “The Road to Little Dribbling” by Bill Bryson.  Join them on Tuesdays at 1:00 pm in the Fireside Room.  There’s always great conversation, snacks, and reading/discussing insightful books.
