Big News!
Our parking lot will be repaved this Tuesday, Nov 9.  There will be no access to the buildings that day.  The work is expected to be completed within one day.  If you’d like to donate to our parking lot fund, click here:

All Church Work Party
Join us this Saturday, Nov 6, at 10:00 am.  We’ll be done by lunchtime if everyone pitches in!  Here’s a list of some of the chores that need to be addressed:

  • Prepping the parking lot for repaving; clearing the area around the dumpsters (please bring your weedwhacker)
  • Replacing light bulbs in the sanctuary
  • Removing cobwebs inside & out
  • Sweeping breezeway, porch, and sidewalks
  • Painting small area in church office

World Communion
We will celebrate communion this Sunday, Nov 7, in a new way.  We will receive the blessed elements indoors, then move outside as a group to the prayer labyrinth to sing (masked) and partake of the juice and bread.  Zoomers should have a beverage and bread available to participate with us.

VHUMC Travelers
All are invited to start seeing the world again with TWO back-to-back trips to some of our National Parks. Several of our members have taken multiple trips with this organization.  Click on the title for more details (printed flyers are also available at church):
SW National Parks (September 11-23, 2022; 6 Nat’l Parks) includes a Durango train trip and Lake Powell cruise.
The Great National Parks (September 23-October 5, 2022; 6 Nat’l Parks) includes a Snake River raft trip out of Jackson Hole.

New Sewing Group Begins
Sneak Preview this Monday, Nov 8, at 5:00 pm – come and help organize the enormous number of fabrics donated by Elizabeth’s Uncle Brian.
Our new group, dedicated to creating two new quilts a year, will begin on Monday, Nov 15, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm in the Fireside Room.  Fabric and other supplies will be provided but feel free to bring your own, if desired.  Newbies welcome!  Contact Elizabeth Brown for more details.

Second Sunday Spiritual Practice
We continue to resume programs that we’ve missed since March 2020!  On Sunday, Nov 14, John Espy will lead us in a Healing and Wholeness practice from 6:00 – 7:00 pm.  And save Sunday, Dec 12, for an Advent meditation.

2022 Calendars
Donna W has taken another 26 calendars to Neighborhood House. They were delighted.  Please bring your new 2022 calendars to church so they can give those people without one a place to put their appointments, family birthdays, etc. for 2022!

Knitting for Neighbors, Nov 8-13
Neighborhood House is calling on all knitters to create and donate a hat, scarf, blanket, or mittens to be distributed during their Winter Wishes clothing & gift drive in December.  Those who donate goods or cash will be entered for a prize giveaway.  Learn more at

ImBible Study
We meet Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm, in-person in the Fireside Room, on Facebook, and in our usual Zoom room.  Our topic this session is women in the bible.  We will read every story involving women, using a light-hearted commentary and a serious text.  No book purchase is necessary.  Join us for a rousing and informative discussion!
