ImBible Study  Jesus moved to Wednesday nights at 7:00! We resumed this week, at 7:00 pm in the Fireside Room, where the Sunday morning series ended, with the 9th chapter of Luke. Great, insightful conversations – give it a try!

Second Sunday Spiritual Practices  This Sunday, Jan 12, we’ll be walking the indoor labyrinth.  If you’ve never done a labyrinth walk, John Espy will be on hand to give you tips on how best to experience this ancient practice. Join us at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary.

Pub Chat  This month’s topic is about the animosity between generations and how it affects the church.  Find links to the reading materials on our website.  Join us on Tuesday, Jan 21, at 6:00 pm at The Lodge at Cascade Brewing, 7424 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy.

The Stitchuation  We’re making warm items for SMYRC, an organization which assists homeless LGBTQ+ youth. Set aside an hour or two a month to knit or crochet with us.  Our next gathering is Monday, Jan 20, at 6:00 pm in the Fireside Room.

Once-in-a-Lifetime Trip  Last chance to join the VHUMC Travelers before this trip is opened to the general public. Brochures are available in the church lobby or contact Linda Miller at 503-699-8626.  On Ultimate Africa safari, we’ll experience small lodges and tented camps; up to 19 game-viewing drives with our sharp-eyed Trip Leaders and expert, naturalist driver-guides; individual interactions in remote villages due to our small group size; and flights via bush plane over the legendary African landscape. From world-famous Chobe National Park to the majestic Okavango Delta, and big game to local cultures—this safari has it all, including Victoria Falls.  The safari is from September 26 to October 13, 2020.  Cost is $8595 per person, including airfare.

Bethlehem House of Bread  Thank you to those who donate and deliver. BHoB’s mission is to provide not only food but also clothing and household essentials, such as baby formula, diapers, and personal hygiene products, for those going through challenging times.  We will be expanding our partnership with them soon!

Flowers for Communion Sundays  Please sign up in the lobby if you are able to bring a medium-sized bouquet for the communion table on the first Sunday of the month.

Birthday Cards Needed  The church office needs birthday cards, if you have extras at home.  We will also gratefully accept leftover Christmas cards.  Thanks!
