Practicing Our Faith, ch 13, “Singing Our Lives”
Here’s a preview for this week:
Alternative Christmas Sunday is Alternative Christmas, where you can make a donation in memory or honor of a loved one and receive a card or ornament to give. Support important ministries *and* finish your shopping list! In the Fellowship Hall during coffee time.
Scrip Sunday December 9 is your last opportunity to buy gift cards for those on your Christmas list *and* simultaneously support VHUMC! Buy and use at full value; the retailers give a portion back to the church. Every teenager’s #1 gift wish!
Caroling the Homebound After worship next Sunday the 9th, we’re going to grab a sack lunch and head to three different assisted living centers. Join us for any or all. Songbooks are provided; you provide the Christmas spirit!
No Sunday School in December Due to all the extra Sunday activities this month, we will take a short break from Sunday School. However, please come at 9:30 on the 9th to help prepare sack lunches for the carolers.
Parents Night Out Just when it’s needed most! Saturday, December 15, 5:00 – 8:00 pm. $20 per child covers dinner, a movie, snacks, games, etc. Share with every parent you know; they will bless you for it. RSVP please to mailto:familyvhumc@gmail.com.
SWPCC Fundraiser Eat at the Chipotle, 9120 SW Hall Blvd, on Saturday, December 8, between 4:00 and 8:00 pm and mention SWPCC. A nice thing we can do for our friends in the preschool.
Christmas in Dairyville A Christmas tradition! We’ll all head to Alpenrose Dairy after coffee time on Sunday, December 16, to enjoy the simpler joys of the season. Admission is free but donations of new unwrapped toys and/or canned foods are appreciated.
Gift Giving Thank you for your donations of Thanksgiving food for Hayhurst Elementary. For Christmas, we will be providing gifts for the children in five families. If you can, please take a tag from the lobby this Sunday and return the wrapped gift by December 16.
ZooLights Save the date, December 22, for this frosty, furry event! More details soon.
