Please join us for a dramatic presentation of Jesus’ seven statements from the cross.
After each statement there will be a reflection and response. Then one of the candles will be extinguished.
At the end of the service we will be in near darkness – and like those who first witnessed this event, we will leave in silence.
Tenebrae (Latin for “darkness”) is a religious service of Western Christianity consisting of matins and lauds of the last three days of Holy Week (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday) celebrated on the evening of the previous day to the accompaniment of the gradual extinguishing of candles.
