Sunday, Sep 30: Practicing Our Faith, ch 4, “Household Economics”

Fifth Sunday Game Night  This Sunday, from 4 – 6, we’ll be playing some easy, crowd-pleasing games in the Fireside Room.  All are welcome!  Some (real) comments from previous game nights: “Really fun evening “, “Great evening and games! “, “Fun event!! I’m ready for next [time]” Give it a try!

Practicing Our Faith  If you’d like to read along in the companion book to the sermon series, it is available today in the lobby for $20 (cash or check, please).

Practical Whole-iness Workshop  Rev. Daniel Benedict will be the featured presenter at this district event geared towards people who seek to learn more about the way of Christ or deepen their faith and spirituality.  Next Friday and Saturday, Oct 5-6, at Fremont UMC.  To register, visit: https://www.umoi.org/practicalwholeinessworkshop

Family Camp  Our annual weekend at Arch Cape will be Oct 12 – 14. We rent a huge house and enjoy 48 hours of fellowship, beginning at noon on Friday.  Highlights: bonfires on the beach (weather permitting), games and crafts, devotional on Sunday morning, and more fun than you can shake a stick at!  Only $50 per family (or $10/person for Saturday only).  See Elizabeth Brown for more info or to sign up.

Spaghetti Dinner  Tickets are available beginning Sunday for this annual event.  Only $15 each (ages 10 and under are FREE!) for an evening of feasting and fun on Saturday, October 20, beginning at 5:30 pm.  This year we will have door prizes – and you don’t have to be present to win, so buy a chance even if you are unable to attend.

Coffee Hosts  We have seven openings in the next eight weeks.  Please sign up today.  Team up to make the job simpler.  If you’ve never been a coffee host, there are clear instructions in the kitchen, and usually someone happy to help.

Bible Study  We just began reading the book of Hebrews.  Join us in the Fireside Room on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm for the best bible study in the PNW.  A little bit snarky, a little bit crazy, and a whole lot caring, inquisitive, and enlightening.  You *will* come away with a new way to look at the Bible.

Talk N Thought  The “dynamite” ladies of TnT would love to have you join them every Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Fireside Room.  They are reading “My Name is Mahala.”  Expect great conversation, yummy snacks, and reading/discussing insightful books.

Prayer Chain  Please email your prayer requests to PrayerVHUMC@gmail.com. If you do not have access to email, you may call Linda Miller at 503.929.6696.  The ‘Prayers of the People’ is crafted each week from this information.
