Worship Time continues at 10:00 am through the end of August.

Coffee Hosts Needed!  Sign up on Sunday or email the church office.  Thanks!

Multnomah Days Parade  This Saturday, August 17, let’s make our church presence known by marching in a parade!  We’ll gather at 7991 SW Capitol Highway no later than 9:30 am.  At 10:00, we’ll walk up Capitol Highway about a half mile.  We’ll have a 3′ x 6′ banner to carry and info cards and goodies to hand out.  The fun continues with live entertainment, vendors, and food all day.  If planning to participate, please contact Bryan Cooper at bcooperok@gmail.com so that we all meet up.

Weekly Communion  Beginning this Sunday, communion and prayer will be available in the sanctuary every Sunday following worship.  Please be respectful and move quickly out of the building into Fellowship Hall for coffee time.  Thank you!

Pub Chat  Let’s gather on Tuesday, August 20, at 6:00 pm at The Lodge at Cascade Brewing, 7424 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy.  Check our website soon for the topic.

Family Promise Fundraiser  The 3rd Annual Drive In Sleep Out will be August 24-25.  Join us in the Beaverton Fountain Park for an evening of family fun, followed by “car-camping” to raise awareness of homelessness in our community, and a hot breakfast on Sunday morning.  More info at FamilyPromiseOfBeaverton.org/events.

BrainStorming with Bo “BS with Bo” will be back with a new time, 9:30 – 10:15 am, beginning September 1.  The topic this fall is “God is Not One,” a look at the major religions of the world and how we all connect.  Join us in the Fireside Room.

Membership Class  Interested in learning more about membership in Vermont Hills?  Please attend on Sunday, September 15, after coffee time.  Pastor Bo will lead the session which will last about 1 – 1.5 hours.

Swifts at Chapman  Seeing these birds is a glorious sight.  Join Elizabeth Brown on Saturday, September 14, at 7:00 pm at Chapman Elementary.

Capital Improvement Campaign  We’ve raised almost 65% of the $6000 needed for a new heat pump for the Fireside Room.  Please prayerfully consider donating, above and beyond your Sunday offering, to this need.  Checks should be marked for CIC.  You may also donate through the Online Giving on our website.

Voluntary Disclosure Form  If you work with children at VHUMC, please complete and return one of these forms to the church office.

Fred Meyer Community Rewards  If you shop at Freddy’s, please make sure to link your FM Rewards card with Vermont Hills United Methodist Church (code SY323) and the church will receive a percentage of all your purchases.  It costs you nothing and you still receive all your usual benefits.

Sunnyside Needs  Items that are always needed for their homeless ministry: new socks and underwear, laundry detergent, gently used jeans and towels. Put your items in the “treasure box” by the church office door.  Thank you!

Giving by Text  Text a dollar amount to 503.966.5879.  This is through the same company that handles our online giving, so it’s safe and secure.

Book Group This Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Fireside Room is our last gathering for the book, “Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community” by Robert Putnam.  Join us for the wrap-up!   Our next book of the bible, Job, will begin on September 18.

Talk N Thought  The “dynamite” ladies of TnT are nearing the end of “Educated: A Memoir” by Tara Westover.  Join them on Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Fireside Room to be a part of choosing the next book.  There’s always great conversation, snacks, and reading/discussing insightful books.

Prayer Chain  Email your prayer requests to PrayerVHUMC@gmail.com. If you do not have access to email, you may call Linda Miller at 503.929.6696. The ‘Prayers of the People’ is crafted weekly from this information; please indicate if your prayer is private.
