Worship Time continues at 10:00 am through the end of August.

Movie in the Park We will be co-hosting a family-friendly movie in Pendleton Park this Saturday, July 13.  Music and fun begins at 6:30 pm, followed by the movie at dusk.  We will have a table with church information and fun.  We hope that all will attend to meet our neighbors and see our new church banner.  Contact Bryan or Virginia Cooper with any questions.

Pub Chat  There will be no July Pub Chat. The next one will be August 20 at 6:00 pm.  See you then!

Help Needed  We need someone to prepare communion on the first Sunday of every month.  Communication with Pastor Bo is essential.  Please contact the church office if you can help.  Curious about the different ways we celebrate communion at VHUMC?  Read this.

Capital Improvement Campaign  The furnaces that serve the ground floor of the main building need to be replaced.  As a major cost-saving effort, the Trustees and Church Council have voted to replace them with heat pumps.  This will allow us to heat just the rooms in use, rather than the entire space.  The goal is to have one installed by the end of the summer, at a cost of $6000.  Please prayerfully consider donating, above and beyond your Sunday offering, to this need.  Checks should be marked for CIC.  You may also donate through the Online Giving on our website.

Reconciling Churches Picnic  Join other Reconciling United Methodists at a  picnic on Saturday, July 27, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, at Hillsboro UMC, 168 NE 8th Ave, Hillsboro.  Burgers and dogs will be provided; please bring a side labeled with ingredients.  RSVP to office@hillsboroumc.org by July 22.

Multnomah Days Parade  On Saturday, August 17, let’s make our presence known by marching in a parade!  This is Multnomah Village’s largest event of the year, bringing in 7000+ people.  The parade begins at 10:00 am, with live entertainment, vendors, and food all day.  If interested, please contact Bryan Cooper at bcooperok@gmail.com for more info.

Save the Date  Our All Church Work Party in August will be on Friday the 2nd, due to an event in the sanctuary on Saturday.  Please mark your calendars to attend at 10:00 am.

Emergency Preparedness Event  There are still openings available at this auction event presented by Donna Ward.  Tuesday, July 23, 7:00 pm in Fellowship Hall.  Only $20 per person to gain some peace of mind.

Fred Meyer Community Rewards  Link your FM Rewards card with Vermont Hills United Methodist Church (code SY323) and the church will receive a percentage of all your purchases.

Sunnyside Needs  Items that are always needed for their homeless ministry: new socks and underwear, laundry detergent, gently used jeans and towels. Put your items in the “treasure box” by the church office door.  Thank you!

Giving by Text  Text a dollar amount to 503.966.5879.  This is through the same company that handles our online giving, so it’s safe and secure.

Book Group Join us Wednesdays at 7:00 pm in the Fireside Room in reading and discussing the book, “Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community” by Robert Putnam.

Talk N Thought  The “dynamite” ladies of TnT are reading “Educated: A Memoir” by Tara Westover.  Join them every Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Fireside Room and share in great conversation, snacks, and reading/discussing insightful books.

Prayer Chain  Email your prayer requests to PrayerVHUMC@gmail.com. If you do not have access to email, you may call Linda Miller at 503.929.6696. The ‘Prayers of the People’ is crafted weekly from this information; please indicate if your prayer is private.
