Worship Time continues at 10:00 am through the end of August.

Outdoor Games Night  Join Elizabeth Brown in her last official event as Youth Director.  From 4:00 – 6:00 pm on this Sunday, June 30, here at the church.  Play the big games in the great outdoors!

New Kids Room  The kids room is right next to the sanctuary in the main building (enter through the door on the right in the sanctuary.) Kids stay close while parents get to participate in the worship gathering. We also have a kids area in the sanctuary with a comfy couch for families. We are so excited about the new kids room and what it means for our growing families.  Bring your kids and try it out!

Babies!  And speaking of growing families… We are blessed and happy to announce the arrival of twins, Isabelle Lee and Adaline Anne, born on June 22 to Natalie and Josh and big brother Max.  Everyone is happy and healthy!

“Retirement” Party  On July 7 we will celebrate Elizabeth “Boofy” Brown and her 12 years of ministry here at VHUMC.  We will have a traditional potluck after the worship service. Please plan to stay and wish her the best!  (Don’t forget to send your photos of Boofy and her events to the church office for a slideshow!)

Movie in the Park We will be co-hosting a family-friendly movie in Pendleton Park on Saturday, July 13.  Music and fun begins at 6:30 pm, followed by the movie at dusk.  You may bring a picnic or purchase dinner from a food cart, if desired.  We will have a table with church information and fun.  We hope that all will attend to meet our neighbors.

Book Group  We just began reading and discussing the book, “Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community” by Robert Putnam.  Join us Wednesdays at 7:00 pm in the Fireside Room.

Flat Screen Needed  Our new kids room could use a flat screen TV or monitor so that they can see, as well as hear, our worship service.  If you have one available, please contact the church office.

Fred Meyer Community Rewards  Link your FM Rewards card with Vermont Hills United Methodist Church (code SY323) and the church will receive a percentage of all your purchases.  If you need assistance, drop by the church office on Wednesdays or Thursdays, 9:00 – 2:00.

Donation Box  During Pride Month we are collecting items for SMYRC, a group which supports queer and trans homeless youths.  Please bring new toiletries and cosmetics (all skin colors), and gently used shoes (large sizes, any gender), wigs, and fashion accessories.

Auction Items  Check the table in the lobby for info on fun events which still have a spot for you!

Sunnyside Needs  Items that are always needed for their homeless ministry: new socks and underwear, laundry detergent, gently used jeans and towels. Put your items in the “treasure box” by the church office door.  Thank you!

Giving by Text  It’s simple! Enter a dollar amount as the “message” to 503.966.5879.  You’ll receive a link, where you’ll enter your contact and debit or credit card info.  Save the phone number and enter just the amount for future giving.  Safe and secure.  Let’s all support this church we love!

Talk N Thought  The “dynamite” ladies of TnT are reading “Educated: A Memoir” by Tara Westover.  Join them every Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Fireside Room and share in great conversation, snacks, and reading/discussing insightful books.

Prayer Chain  Email your prayer requests to PrayerVHUMC@gmail.com. If you do not have access to email, you may call Linda Miller at 503.929.6696. The ‘Prayers of the People’ is crafted weekly from this information; please indicate if your prayer is private.
