Here’s a preview for this week:

Rest in Peace  We grieve with Edna Blue in the passing of Harry Krupzak on December 24.  Services will be this Saturday, January 5, at noon at the Skyline Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to the American Lung Association would be appreciated.  Please keep Edna, and Harry’s family in your prayers.

The Plan for 2019  Come this Sunday at 9:00 am to the Fireside Room.  Pastor Bo will be outlining the plan for spring, summer and fall of this year, including an overview of Adult Sunday School, Worship gatherings, and Bible Study.  This hour will help you see the big picture, so that we are all striving for the same goals.  Let us know if you need a ride, a wake-up call, or a strong cup of coffee.  See you there!

All Church Work Party  This Saturday, January 5, 10:00 am.  We will be putting away the Advent décor and tidying up the Trinity Memorial garden.  Plenty for everyone to do!

Time of Remembrance  We will gather in the sanctuary after coffee time on this Sunday to share our memories of Anne Begg and the joy she brought to VHUMC.

Free eBook  This is your last chance to download a free copy of the Sacred Everyday blogs from this summer, compiled in one eBook.  Available at http://vermonthillsumc.org/media/free-ebook/.

Volunteers Needed  The Backpack Ministry is in need of more folks to fill bags and deliver food to Hayhurst Elementary School every Thursday.  The food is distributed by the school to food-insecure children.  Contact Pam Yuzon at 503.620.8790 or pyuzon@icloud.com if you can help.

Devotional Books  Brian McLaren’s book, “We Make the Road by Walking,” the basis for our  sermon series beginning this Sunday, will be available in the lobby for $16 (check or cash only.)

Habitat for Humanity  We will be participating in a build on Saturday, January 12.  Location and time TBA but do save the date for this very important work.

Reconciling United Methodists Gathering  Saturday, January 12, from 9:45 am to 2:00 pm at Oregon City UMC.  For more information contact Rev. Bonnie Parr Philipson at revbonnie@hotmail.com or (503) 547-3822.

Second Sunday Spiritual Practices  On Sunday, December 13, at 6:00 pm, join us for Lectio Divina, an intentional way of experiencing scripture

Sunday School is Back!  We begin a new series on “The Big Questions” next Sunday at 9:00 am. See you in the Fireside Room!

ImBible Study  Our feisty, fantastic bible study group will be starting fresh in mid-January.  We’ll be looking at Esther and Ruth with our open-minded, inquisitive, and progressive goggles on.  Join us on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm in the Fireside Room, with an optional second act at the pub afterwards.

Talk N Thought  The “dynamite” ladies of TnT would love to have you join them every Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Fireside Room.  They are reading “I Am Malala.”  Expect great conversation, yummy snacks, and reading/discussing insightful books.

Prayer Chain  Please email your prayer requests to PrayerVHUMC@gmail.com. If you do not have access to email, you may call Linda Miller at 503.699.8628.  The ‘Prayers of the People’ is crafted each week from this information; please indicate if your prayer is private.
