Here’s a preview for this week:
For this Sunday, we’re reading Chapter 22 of We Make the Road by Walking: “Jesus the Teacher.” Here’s the full schedule: http://vermonthillsumc.org/reading-plan-make-the-road-by-walking/
Prayer Chapel Our chapel, located at the NE entrance of the main building, is now open for prayer and meditation every Thursday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Please pray for our Western Jurisdiction delegates and others attending the Special Session of the General Conference in February, that they vote to include LGBTQ persons at all levels in the Methodist church. Souper Bowl Chili Cook-off Football, chili, and beer. Got your attention? Sunday, February 3, we’ll be watching the Super Bowl in the Fireside Room. Bring your best chili (or snacks, toppings, dessert) and your favorite beverage, including beer, for a great evening! Admission is a can of soup or other non-perishable for our food pantry. Kick-off time is 3:30 PST.
Cathy’s Website At church on Sunday we heard Bo’s sister-in-law, Cathy, speak about her efforts to help stop human trafficking in Thailand. Here is the website where you can learn more and donate to support her work: http://www.slavefreeearth.com/
Birthday Cards Needed If you have spare cards lying around, please consider donating them to the church. More people = more birthdays! (yay!) And if the office doesn’t have your birthday and address, please supply it, so that *you* get a card on your birthday!
Sunnyside It’s time for another run to Sunnyside Community House with our donations. If you’re available to deliver these warm items to them, please contact the church office.
Sunday School is now BrainStorming with Bo! We’ve begun a new ABC’s series of new concepts! Join us at 9:00 am on Sundays in the Fireside Room to find out how they apply to you — and discover just how much fun Sunday School can be!
