BrainStorming with Bo  This Sunday we begin a four-week series on the Enneagram.  The Enneagram is a personality system that aims to reveal how emotions drive our lives and how we engage with others in an effort to get what we want and need. The Enneagram defines nine personality types, each with its own set of strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for personal growth.  Join us at 9:15 am for this fascinating study.

ImBible Study  Jesus moves to Wednesday nights at 7:00! We resume this Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Fireside Room.  We will pick up where the Sunday morning series ended, with the 9th chapter of Luke.

Second Sunday Spiritual Practices  On Sunday, Jan 12, we’ll be walking the indoor labyrinth.  If you’ve never done a labyrinth walk, John Espy will be on hand to give you tips on how best to experience this ancient practice. Join us at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary.

Pub Chat  This month’s topic is about the animosity between generations and how it affects the church.  Find links to the reading materials on our website.  Join us on Tuesday, Jan 21, at 6:00 pm at The Lodge at Cascade Brewing, 7424 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy.

Flowers for Communion Sundays  Please sign up in the lobby if you are able to bring a medium-sized bouquet for the communion table.

Birthday Cards Needed  The church office needs birthday cards, if you have extras at home.  We will also gratefully accept leftover Christmas cards.  Thanks!

Missed a Sunday?  Catch up on sermons you may have missed on YouTube (videos) or our website (audio podcasts.)

Job Opportunity  Want a short-term job to catch up on Christmas bills?  Work for the 2020 Census.  Perks include flexible hours, weekly pay, and knowing that you’re doing a good thing for your community.  Apply online and get more info at 2020census.gov/jobs.

Giving by Text  Safe and simple. Text the dollar amount to 844.958.1124 and get a link to provide your billing information.

Fred Meyer Community Rewards  If you shop at Freddy’s, please make sure to link your FM Rewards card with Vermont Hills United Methodist Church (code SY323) and the church will receive a percentage of all your purchases.  It costs you nothing and you still receive all your usual benefits.

Bethlehem House of Bread  Their mission is to provide not only food but also clothing and household essentials, such as baby formula, diapers, and personal hygiene products, for those going through challenging times.  Please donate as you are able to the “treasure box” by the church office.  Thank you!

Talk N Thought  Talk N Thought will not meet on December 31; gatherings will resume on January 7 with a potluck. They are currently reading “The Road to Little Dribbling” by Bill Bryson.  Join them on Tuesdays at 1:00 pm in the Fireside Room.  There’s always great conversation, snacks, and reading/discussing insightful books.

Prayer Chain  Email your prayer requests to PrayerVHUMC@gmail.com. If you do not have access to email, you may call Linda Miller at 503.699.8628 (new number!)  The ‘Prayers of the People’ is crafted weekly from this information; please indicate if your prayer is private.
