You Did It!  Through your generosity, VHUMC paid 100% of our apportionments in 2019.  You rock!

Labyrinth  Another opportunity to walk the labyrinth in cozy warmth!  It will be set up in Fellowship Hall this Sunday.  After worship, take a meditative stroll (coffee time will be in the lobby.)

The Stitchuation  We’re finishing warm items for SMYRC, an organization which assists homeless LGBTQ+ youth.  Our next gathering is Monday, Jan 20, at 6:00 pm in the Fireside Room. We’ll be discussing making items for injured animals in Australia – joey pouches, bat wraps – by crocheting, knitting, or machine sewing.  Let’s make it happen!

Pub Chat  This month’s topic is about the animosity between generations and how it affects the church.  Find links to the reading materials on our website.  Join us on Tuesday, Jan 21, at 6:00 pm at The Lodge at Cascade Brewing, 7424 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy.

All Church Work Party  On Saturday, Feb 1, we’ll be cleaning up the Fireside and Big Rooms, in preparation for our local Girl Scout troop to use them for their “trial run” of camping.  Only a two-hour commitment: 10:00 – noon.  Be there!

BrainStorming with Bo  Order your book now for the Feb 2 beginning of the study, “The Church of Us vs. Them.”  Available at smile. Amazon.com!

Poems  Watch the website for poems used during worship.  January selections are there now.

Bethlehem House of Bread  Thank you to those who donate and deliver. BHoB’s mission is to provide not only food but also clothing and household essentials, such as baby formula, diapers, and personal hygiene products, for those going through challenging times.  We will be expanding our partnership with them soon!

Flowers for Communion Sundays  Please sign up in the lobby if you are able to bring a medium-sized bouquet for the communion table on the first Sunday of the month.

Birthday Cards Needed  The church office needs birthday cards, if you have extras at home.  We will also gratefully accept leftover Christmas cards.  Thanks!

Missed a Sunday?  Catch up on sermons you may have missed on YouTube (videos) or our website (audio podcasts.)

ImBible Study  We’re continuing the book of Luke at 7:00 pm on Wednesday nights in the Fireside Room. Great, insightful conversations – give it a try!

Job Opportunity  Want a short-term job to catch up on Christmas bills?  Work for the 2020 Census.  Perks include flexible hours, weekly pay, and knowing that you’re doing a good thing for your community.  Apply online and get more info at 2020census.gov/jobs.

Giving by Text  Safe and simple. Text the dollar amount to 844.958.1124 and get a link to provide your billing information.

Fred Meyer Community Rewards  If you shop at Freddy’s, please make sure to link your FM Rewards card with Vermont Hills United Methodist Church (code SY323) and the church will receive a percentage of all your purchases.  It costs you nothing and you still receive all your usual benefits.

Talk N Thought  Join the “dynamite” ladies of TnT on Tuesdays at 1:00 pm in the Fireside Room. They are currently reading “The Road to Little Dribbling” by Bill Bryson.  There’s always great conversation, snacks, and reading/discussing insightful books.

Prayer Chain  Email your prayer requests to PrayerVHUMC@gmail.com. If you do not have access to email, you may call Linda Miller at 503.699.8628 (new number!)  The ‘Prayers of the People’ is crafted weekly from this information; please indicate if your prayer is private.
