Pastor Anna Cho

Pastor

Anna Cho is a 1.5 generation Korean American elder in the Oregon-Idaho Conference. After pursuing psychology, she earned her Master of Divinity from Claremont School of Theology, Master of Science in Psychology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and Ph.D. in Practical Theology at the Claremont School of Theology. Her dissertation, "Asian American Pastors’ Embedded Theology of Suicide: A Phenomenological Study of the Lived Experiences of Asian American Pastors on Suicide," identifies ways to promote ou-ri ("our") care to shift toward life-giving theologies of suicide.

Fluent in Korean and English, she is often seen working in the intersections of spirituality/ faith, anti-racism, grief work, and creating intentional brave spaces for spiritual formation.

She is married to Dylan Hyun, an Air Force Reserve chaplain and an elder in The United Methodist Church. Together they have a son whose middle name is “Shine” and a munchkin cat named Maple.

Her hobbies included thrifting, crafting, and beachcombing.
